THE PICKLE CHECK
Privacy information
This page explains how this website check handles information. Please submit only a public page address. Do not include passwords, private documents, access tokens, or sensitive links.
Public page checks
For a live check, Pixel Pickles sends the page address to Google PageSpeed Insights. Google retrieves the page and returns automated Lighthouse results. Pixel Pickles checks the domain’s public DNS addresses but does not fetch your page’s HTML itself. Query strings and private or local targets are rejected.
Google processes the address under its own privacy policy. Results may contain page text, resource addresses, or snippets reported by Lighthouse.
Temporary reports and abuse prevention
When live scanning is enabled, normalized scan results are cached in Pixel Pickles’ configured Upstash Redis store for six hours. A separate report snapshot is retained for 24 hours. A random private token allows your current browser session to download that report; the token is sent in request bodies and is not placed in a public report URL. Reloading or closing the page can lose access to that session’s report.
IP addresses are converted to identifiers using a server secret for rate limiting. Those identifiers, recipient identifiers used to limit email requests, and delivery-status records expire within 48 hours. The application does not intentionally log submitted page addresses, email addresses, report tokens, or full provider responses. Hosting and service providers may separately process connection information under their own policies.
Optional email and mini-audit requests
You can view results and download a PDF without providing an email address. If report email is available and you request it, your email address, optional first name, and attached report are sent through Resend. An accepted request means the email provider accepted the message; it does not guarantee inbox delivery.
If you request a mini audit using the on-site dialog, your first name, email address, public website address, and optional message are sent through Resend to Pixel Pickles’ configured audit inbox. This asks Pixel Pickles to contact you about that audit. Neither action adds you to a marketing list. Messages retained by the email provider or Pixel Pickles’ inbox are separate from the temporary report store.
If an external contact or audit link is shown, that destination handles information under its own policies. Contact Pixel Pickles about information you have shared using the link below.
Cookies and sample reports
The checker uses a first-party session-security cookie lasting up to 24 hours to protect submission requests. The current implementation adds no analytics or session replay. Explicit development samples do not send the entered page address to Google and are labeled “Sample report. Not a live website scan.” Production cannot use sample mode.
